Good bye jerk!

It may seem like piling on to do a post on Michael Vick on the day he is indicted, but piling on is what you are supposed to do with quarterbacks. Micheal Vick is class 1 scum bag maybe even more so than Pacman Jones.
I am ususally almost an apologist for athlete behavior, immediately after the Ron Artest suspension was handed down, I sent an email to the league complaining about the harsh penalty. I have a warm spot in my heart for athletes with attitude (see earlier post on Jim Rice). However, in this case I have no sympathay if Michael Vick never plays again in the NFL. He will of course and some sneaker company will also give lot's of dough to wear their product (see Kobe Bryant).

What this jerk did was willfully breed dogs to attack and had them fight with each other for sport. While I know this doesn't quite put him in a league with Cris Benoit, in my book, he is a notch just below.

If there is justice, this jerk will see prison time and a lengthy suspension by the league. I am confident that Commissioner Roger Goodall will hand down a large suspension. He has already shown much less tolerance for poor off field behavior than his predecessor. I would like to think all of his sponsors will drop him immediately, yes he is entitled to due process, but the fact that this dog fighting was happening on his property should be enough to invoke some morals clause.

I would expect that very soon we will see the results of some great PR team hired to put doubt in the public's mind while his laywers get working on getting the case thrown out. No amount of money is going to convince me that this guy is anything less than a criminal.

If you have any dout about what kind of criminal this jerk is, read the indictmentL

Here's a quick excerpt:
According to the indictment, an unidentified associate from Bad Newz Kennels admonished another participant at a dogfight who yelled out Vick's name during an event in the fall of 2003 -- a participant who is also now cooperating with prosecutors.

The indictment also alleges that Vick and his associates "rolled" some of their dogs -- testing them in short fights to determine how well they might fight. Dogs that failed the test were killed, prosecutors said.

While most of the dog killings noted in the indictment were allegedly carried out by the other defendants, Vick himself participated in the killings of eight dogs in April, according to the indictment. The animals were killed "by various methods, including hanging, drowning and slamming at least one dog's body to the ground," the indictment said. E-mail to a friend

He is a despicable and vile human being. He will never play another down in the NFL.
