Forget for a moment whatever your opinions are on gay adoption. This video of John McCain is pretty telling in that he has very little tolerance for questions on anything he doesn't deem important. This is almost as telling as the question a few weeks ago.
So far the only thing I've seen that's important to him is the surge.
That said, I'm sure the Boobs (see below) loved the answer.

I think that all politicians do what he did. The problem with McCain is his lack of eloquence. Everything he says comes out badly. All he was doing was staying on point. Tell me Obama doesn't do that or Bill Clinton and the like?
I agree with what you are saying about the tap dancing he does during his answer. Everyone does it, they avoid answering the question entirely.
The piece that I object to is his dismissal of the issue as being an issue. "this isn't why I'm running for the President of the United States"
When or if he becomes President, he can't only be engaged on the two issues that matter to him.
