The Lion Roars

At about 9:00 tonight David Gergan noted correctly that the first night of the convention was off to a slow start. Caroline Kennedy picked it up a little by speaking emotionally about Barack and Uncle Ted. After an 8 minute tribute video to Ted, up comes Ted to the plate. To say that Teddy hit it our of the park is a gross understatement.

Senator Kennedy delivered a passionate, emotional and courageous speech about the importance of this fight for Democratic ideals. Delivering his plea to a crowd that was emotional at the sight of this great American icon in failing health was enough to stir the majority of those watching.

People have a lot of varying opinions on Ted, but for tonight he is once again a true leader in his party. It will be hard to top his appearance tonight.
