Good things about President Bush

I had a particularly tough meeting with the vendor sharing bad news after bad news. At the end of the meeting I insisted we end on a positive note and think of some positive things to talk about. Forced to do this, we all came up with a thing or two ending the meeting with some much needed laughs.

This evening I am going to carry that over and say 4 positive things about President Bush. No insults, no sarcasm, no secretly veiled insults.

1) 2nd term appointments of Paulson, Snow, Gates and McConnell are among his best appointments.

2) Took an unpopular immigration stand counter to his party's position.

3) Has had one of the most (if not the most) diverse set of cabinet appointees and advisors.

4) Not afraid to take a position counter to pulic opinion. While this can also be considered a weakness for this post I will focus on the postive aspect of this.

That's my list, leaving family and other personal aspects off the list because it is hard to know what is real and what is packaging, but generally speaking the public face we see seems to be a basically good person.

That's it. Go out and say something nice to someone you don't like tomorrow.
