Our Loss

This morning I had the rare chance to watch Meet the Press live as opposed to listening to the podcast. Brian Williams milk toast interviews remind us again how much Tim Russert will be missed during this election cycle. NBC announced today that Tom Brokaw would fill in tgtough election day. While that probably makes the most sense, he is an ancor first an interviewer second. Russert was an interviewer first and second.
I couldn't help think how much different this election will be without the forceful cross examination of campaign surrogates that only Tim Russert did effectively.
