Me First

While a lot of people will criticize congress for not getting the job done on the bailout, I don't think it is unreasonable to give the a little time to get the job done right before spending $700 billion. By all accounts, the two party's leadership was close to a deal until as one Republican put it, daddy came home.

What John McCain did the last two days was a disgrace. To go to Washington and send the whole process on it's ear was incredibly selfish and innappropriate. The Bush administration moved a lttle to allow oversight, curbs on executive pay and provisions to allow taxpayers to have the ability to recoup their spend. McCain's presence threw all the progress out the window.

So now in the last month John McCain has put himself first on his two biggest opportunities. I read McCain's book several years ago and used to have a lot of respect for him. That was past tense, this current John McCain is an embarassment. There is no other way to put it on a guy that puts Sarah Palin a heartbeat away and making this bailout into a circus.
