I forgot to comment on this earlier this week when FoxNews ran this mid week. This is just plain dumb.
Hip-Hop-Dancing Colin Powell Fuels Speculation He'll Endorse Obama
Colin Powell has his dancing shoes on, fueling speculation that he's gearing up to do the Obama Two-Step.
The normally staid former U.S. secretary of state and chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff performed an impromptu hip-hop dance alongside well-known rap stars Tuesday following a speech at a festival in London celebrating African-American music and fashion.
His address at the "Africa Rising" celebration inside London's Royal Albert Hall fueled speculation that an endorsement of Barack Obama is imminent.
So let me get this straight. Colin Powell was mixing it up with a couple of rap stars so therefore his is endorsing Obama? I know FoxNews is mostly not a credible news organization, but I rate this almost up there with the terrorist fist bump earlier in the campaign.
Colin Powell is indeed endorsing Obama tomorrow, but I don't think he was telegraphing it above. While Powell's endorsement isn't going to bring in a lot of votes, what it will do is knock a couple of more days off the clock by ensuring Barack wins a few days worth of news cycles. With only 16 days left before the election, winning a couple of days of news cycles will be important. The below excerpt is from Powell's endorsement tomorrow.
"Those of us who have served, worn the cloth of our nation, and gone into harm’s way know that to be successful we must have the strongest sense of trust in our Commander in Chief. We must be confident that he has listened to the best possible advice, that he has garnered the best possible information from all possible sources, that he has analyzed and weighed all the possible consequences and outcomes, and that he has made the decision to exert military force as a last possible resort," said a four stars General (Ret.) Collin Powell a former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs. "Of this I am certain: Senator Obama will do all of those things and much more to ensure the safety and freedom of our citizens, our allies, and coalition partners. He has all the great qualities and attributes required to carry out the most difficult duties of the Presidency. He is ready."Obama will probably also use the announcement tomorrow to overshadow his September fundraising numbers. The less people realize he raised upwards of $100 mil, the less likely it is going to make donors complacent.
UPDATE: with vidio of endorsement.
