For the past couple of months I have been pretty insistent that Obama had the numbers and the race was pretty much over. For those same couple of months, the media had been anointing Hillary Clinton as the comeback kid and as a fighter. The more contests that came and went, the worse the math looked for Hillary and the more she was portrayed as making a run.
Tuesday Obama won a race everyone knew from February on that he would win and lost another state that was considered a toss up. After the long expected win, Obama was anointed the presumptive nominee.
I do not dispute that he is clearly the winner, but that was true back in February. What changed? How much did the media carry this race longer than it was a still viable race?
When you get right down to it, the media carried the McCain candidacy to the nomination, how long did they carry Clinton when she was no longer competitive?
