The Death of the Republican Brand

I am eagerly awaiting Thursday night when Sarah Palin will put the finishing touches on destroying the Republican Brand for the foreseeable future. Think I am exaggerating?

Right now the Republican Senate is almost assured to lose 7 seats bringing the Democrats projection to 58 seats. To get to 60 the Democrats only need to win two out of the three remaining close contests. One embarrassing Palin interview could keep the GOP faithful at home this year which would not only hurt McCain but give Obama a filibuster proof majority in the Senate (not to worry about too much power, 60 Democrats rarely agree on anything).

The remarkable thing about this is that 4 short years ago Bush swept to reelection with majorities in the House and Senate ready to inflict (I mean use) his newly found political capitol.

And to think the final nails on the coffin rest in Sarah's dumb little hands.
